Jultagi, the highlight of Madangnori (traditional Korean outdoor performances), is traditional Korean performance of a rope player and a clown walking on a tight rope to the performance of six musical instruments and the audience’s response. The performance is composed of Julgosa, a ceremony to wish the audience wellbeing and happiness, and Julgwangdaenoreum, a show of a rope player displaying around 40 kinds of artistic skills with a clown to the performance of six musical instruments.

The National Intangible Cultural Heritage Jultagi Preservation Society was established when Jultagi, tightrope walking, was designated as National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 58 in 1976. Representative possessors include the late Kim Yeong-chul who was the first human cultural asset and his successor Kim Dae-kyun. The performance group is preserving and inheriting Jultagi in Gwancheon, the home of Jultagi.
